THERE WILL BE NO LIVE VIDEO FOR PASCOA 2008 ON THE INTERNET

THERE WILL BE NO LIVE VIDEO for Pascoa 2008 on the internet either from Toronto, Canada or Terceira Acores.

Once I heard that there would be no LIVE VIDEO from Terceira this year I had decided to transmit LIVE from Toronto, Canada, I do this with my free time as a hobby and at my personal expense. The hardware required to produce LIVE VIDEO is not cheap, it is with great generosity that viaoceanica.com has been providing the servers for our LIVE VIDEO as these servers are VERY expensive to operate.

I do this for fun and with great expense I DO NOT MAKE ANY MONEY from this nor did I intent to profit from Pascoa 2008. In the long run its better this way as I don't have the burden of setting up hardware, money, transport and the negations needed to set up a LIVE STREAM.

I had made arrangements with one hall and was told I could set up in the back of the hall.............this is IMPOSSIBLE for what we are trying to do. (The front would be for people to dance ) ?

I then made arrangements with a second hall, they were more then eager to help and would have provided internet access and  anything else I needed for the LIVE VIDEO STREAM. Unfortunately this CLUB was not the one hosting the dances, it was A Ermandado DO Espirto Santo do Toronto. I spoke to the president and quickly explained my situation and that I would need a place to position cameras, tv's, computers etc. Again I was told there was no room for me near the front for the cameras and that I could go to the back AGAINST THE WALL ?

From that distance it is near impossible to provide a decent LIVE VIDEO STREAM. There are other factors from that distance not including hardware.

Its sad to say but our Portuguese community has a long way to go........................ THERE WILL BE NO LIVE VIDEO FOR PASCOA 2008 ON THE INTERNET.

Did you know in 2005
: California toppled the 30 dança mark. That year 34 danças took to the stage in California alone. Combine this with 14 danças from the east coast and the U.S. falls just one shy of Terceira's output this year of 49. As usual, these 34 vignettes were either part of a group where they performed before carnaval or were individual danças performing only during the weekend. Toronto and area had 9 dances for Carnaval 2005.
